It's not just glass...

It's "Lake Glass"!

Lake glass is a recycled waste, made into a collectible gem by nature. Not all beaches are capable of creating it, which is why a good lake glass beach is hard to find. The best options are usually where there is consistent wave movement.

Lake Glass

Lake glass is originally made by man but refined by nature, worn by waves, recycled by the lake.  Bottles, jars and glass carelessly discarded are tumbled by the lake to form these colorful gems of the shore.

Collecting and sorting

A quality piece of lake glass has no shiny spots, is well frosted and has smooth edge's .

The most prized, rare glass is orange, red, blues and aqua's and are becoming smaller and smaller as they continue to age and break down. Clear glass is the most common, as are brown and green.

Lake Treasure

It can take over 10 years in a constant surf environment for glass to "become" lake glass.

There are many different kinds of lake glass and pottery from "Rounds" to patterned glass or embossed that still retains some of it's original design. 'bubbles' are perfectly round pieces, boulders (huge lumps of sea glass).
